At first glance, that seems like a very shallow title. One could interpret it to mean a person’s value is inherently determined by their vehicle, but I have come to realize, at a certain economic level, what a person uses for transportation is often driven by their values. How does this relate to design? Good question. As much as I can tell which colors, patterns, and textures a person likes based-on their clothing choices, I now see the design elements a client gravitates to reflected in their automobile selection.
The client drawn-to neutrals, Scandinavian modernism and functionality= camel-colored Volvo SUV
The client in love with warm, organic tones and practical features= light sage Subaru wagon
The client moved by high contrast, drama, and shine= black, impeccably shiny Range Rover
The client who loves classic architecture, brightness, and luxury elements= white Lexus
So what do you drive? It may say a lot about what drives you.
